Spring or autumn in Nepal? A real-world comparison

Bikas GurungMay 12, 2026 5 min read

Spring (March–May)

Warm days, rhododendrons in bloom from mid-March, but hazier views. Nights are still cold above 4,000 m.

Autumn (October–November)

The classic postcard season — cold nights, clear days, peak visibility. Also peak crowds on EBC and the Annapurna Circuit.

Our take

For photography, autumn. For flora and fewer crowds, spring. For remote regions like Dolpo or Upper Mustang, you have no choice — only summer (rain shadow) works.
