The story behind Nepal's most trusted trekking company

Himalayan trekking

Our Story

Born in the Mountains, Built on Trust

Your Trekking Guide was founded in 2009 by Tashi Sherpa, born and raised in the High Himalayas. After decades of guiding hundreds of trekkers and climbing major peaks, Tashi realized that the trekking industry needed a company that truly put safety, authenticity, and community first.

What started as a one-person operation in a small Thamel office has grown into a team of dedicated professionals — guides, porters, operations staff, and cultural specialists — all united by a shared love for the mountains and a commitment to excellence.

Over 15 years, we have led more than 2,500 treks and welcomed 10,000 adventurers from around the world. Every trek reinforces what we believe: the Himalayas change people, and we are honored to be part of that transformation.

The best-organised trek we've ever done. Permits were ready, every flight was confirmed, and our guide Ang remembered my partner's dietary restrictions on day one.

I was nervous about the Thorong La crossing; Maya made it feel like a walk. Clear briefings, honest pace advice, and great snacks.

Langtang is criminally underrated. Fewer people than EBC, better food, and just as spectacular. Will return for the Gosaikunda extension.

Booked the gear rental the day I landed. Everything fit perfectly and the sleeping bag was warm down to Kala Patthar.
