Our Story
Born in the Mountains, Built on Trust
Himalayan Trails was founded in 2009 by Tashi Sherpa, born and raised in the shadow of Everest in the Khumbu region. After summiting Everest three times and guiding hundreds of trekkers through the Himalayas, Tashi realized that the trekking industry needed a company that truly put safety, authenticity, and community first.
What started as a one-person operation in a small Thamel office has grown into a team of dedicated professionals — guides, porters, operations staff, and cultural specialists — all united by a shared love for the mountains and a commitment to excellence.
Over 15 years, we have led more than 2,500 treks and welcomed 10,000 adventurers from around the world. Every trek reinforces what we believe: the Himalayas change people, and we are honored to be part of that transformation.

Born in the Khumbu region, Tashi has summited Everest three times and guided over 200 treks across Nepal. His deep knowledge of the mountains and passion for sharing Nepali culture drives everything we do.
Anita Gurung
Operations Manager
With a decade of experience in adventure tourism, Anita ensures every trek runs seamlessly from booking to return. She oversees logistics, permits, and client communications.
Mingma Dorji
Senior Trek Guide
A certified mountaineering guide with expertise in the Annapurna and Manaslu regions. Mingma is known for his calm demeanor, encyclopedic knowledge of flora and fauna, and infectious enthusiasm.
